Haddonfield will be fun, both to make and to watch. It is a postmodern subversion of the traditional slasher horror film with all of the characters directly referencing memorable characters from iconic films of the subgenre. It is a game for the audience since all of the players are recognizable, but evolved from their earlier incarnations. These shifts undercut their expectations because everything is changed just enough to make it obvious that the traditional tropes of the subgenre no longer apply, thus forcing them to reevaluate everything they think they know. As a script, Haddonfield was written in such a way that it can be filmed on a low budget, with only one major location and no complex special effects. As a text, it is fun and challenging.
